You can meet a member of our team in advance to clarify questions about our department, to get an overview of queer events or to reduce fears of first contact. Nobody is asked about sexual orientation or the like – please don't be afraid of a forced outing!
The meeting can take place in a café, in the park or in the ÖH building – it's up to you! The buddy will also be happy to accompany you to our events! Write us on Facebook or contact us via e-mail (queerbuddy@oehunigraz.at).
Tanja | studies pharmacy
Hi, I'm Tanja! I'm from Carinthia and I moved to Graz a few years ago for my studies. You can recognize me by an open, friendly nature and interest in almost all subject areas. When I'm not immersed in chemical formulas, you can often find me with a book, without which I rarely leave the house. I would be happy if I could answer your questions and/or accompany you to one of our events. As a buddy, I would like to make it easier for you to find your way around the community and take away any uncertainties you may have.
Verena | studies Social Pedagogy
Hello, I'm Verena. Originally, I’m from Klagenfurt and have been living in Graz for some time for my master's degree in social pedagogy. When I moved to Graz, I joined the queer department through the Buddy Project and have since been able to get to know the department as a place full of open exchange, cool activities, and great people. As a rather introverted student, who was brand new to Graz at the time, the Buddy Project helped me a lot to get started in the queer department. That’s why I would now like to support other students in contacting us, taking advantage of the offers of the queer department as they please, participating in the creation of the department’s events and becoming part of the community. For this I can be your contact person, if you want: just feel free to contact me 😊
Petra | studies Educational Sciences
Heyho, I'm Petra, I come from southeastern Styria and commute back and forth between the country and the city life. You can recognize me by my flashy and sometimes loud nature but also by my way of speaking. Since I am always looking for social contacts (probably due to the zodiac sign Gemini) I came across the queer department last June via the newsletter and have been part of it ever since. If you have any questions or concerns, I can give you tips and tricks on (almost) all topics or accompany you to cool events.
